This is an interesting site I came across while looking for photographs of Walden Pond. Everyone should at least take a look at the first couple of paragraphs. Interesting reading!

What does it mean by "Thoreau was the hermit of Walden Pond"?

It means that he had no visitors and kept to himself at Walden Pond. As the site explains, this wasn't the case. Kind of interesting that some people read the book carelessly and then spread it. I'd probably be guilty of this at some point though.

Is it really true that Thoreau went home every day to do his laundry? I find that very weird because he could have just done it near his home in the woods. There was even a pond nearby to wash his clothes!
